Winds cold leaves
are cleared from trees
night by night,
baring the moon’ s light.

In the shower
everywhere
red leaves fell;
now hailstorms drop
on garden leaves

If you haven’t seen it
on the ice of this well,
you must insist
the moon
is of autumn alone
